Oil Groove Bushings

Special/Custom bushings are NON-RETURNABLE - They're made just for you.

Oil Groove Applications: Oil grooves are available on most drill-bushing types, including P, H, and SF. Oil grooves are specially designed coolant passageways in the bushing's ID wall. The groove will provide drill lubrication and cooling, an important consideration when drilling hardened steel. Choose from 25 different groove styles. End wipers are also available, to keep out dirt and chips.

Optional Wipers: To minimize dirt and chips entering the bushing ID, order oil-groove bushings with a wiper end. Do not order an oil-groove style that breaks out at the wiper end (AA, AB, AD, AE, AG, or AH). Order style AAA for headless bushings (install wiper in either direction). Order style ABB or ACC for head type bushings.

H-48-16-.5000-AR-ABB (H bushing with AR oil groove and ABB wiper)

Oil Groove Types

OIL HOLE: This type of oil groove has a single radial hole in the bushing wall to allow coolant to flow from a manifold passage to the bushing's internal oil grooves. Bushing must be correctly oriented during installation so that the radial hole lines up with the manifold passage.

OIL GROOVE STYLES: Oil-Groove Bushings (with Oil Hole) are available in eight styles, to suit different operating conditions, lubrication requirements, and individual preferences.

SIZES & TECHNICAL DATA: Oil grooves are available for bushings with ID sizes from 3/8" to 8", and lengths from 1/2" to 8" (oil grooves stop 1/8" short of each end). Oil grooves are 1/16" wide x 1/32" deep. Oil holes are 1/4" diameter.

OIL HOLE & EXTERNAL GROOVE: This type is our most popular. The OD groove allows coolant to flow around the bushing, then through the radial hole in the bushing's wall, to the internal oil grooves. This allows installing the bushing at any orientation, and mounting several bushings in series using a single manifold passage.

OIL GROOVE STYLES: Oil-Groove Bushings (with Oil Hole & External Groove) are available in eight styles, to suit different operating conditions, lubrication requirements, and individual preferences.

SIZES & TECHNICAL DATA: Oil grooves are available for bushings with ID sizes from 3/8" to 8", and lengths from 1/2" to 8" (oil grooves stop 1/8" short of each end). Oil grooves are 1/16" wide x 1/32" deep. Oil holes are 1/4" diameter. External grooves are 5/16" wide x 3/64" deep.

WITHOUT OIL FEED: This type of oil groove has no external feed from a manifold passage to the bushing's internal oil grooves, so all coolant must enter at the ID entrance end. This type is also commonly used as a bearing bushing, packed with oil or grease.

OIL GROOVE STYLES: Oil-Groove Bushings (without Oil Feed) are available in nine styles, to suit different operating conditions, lubrication requirements, and individual preferences.

SIZES & TECHNICAL DATA: Oil grooves are available for bushings with ID sizes from 3/8" to 8", and lengths from 1/2" to 8" (oil grooves stop 1/8" short of each end). Oil grooves are 1/16" wide and 1/32" deep.
